Ever so often we are stuck in limbo. It can get a little frustrating waiting on loads when you feel stranded in a town far from home.
After our delivery in Lisbon Falls yesterday morning, we waited around town for a bit thinking dispatch would find us a load soon. We utilized that time to refuel and refresh.
Fueled up, and waiting....
Got a few groceries at the local mart, and waiting.....
Grabbed lunch, and still......
So, we found a nice little spot for public parking. Unlike typical truck stops, this was a quiet lot behind a gas station, and for such a popular location, the lot itself was extremely quiet. All around us was a cute wooden fence holding up dainty flowers. The back part was lined with trees, which blocked any nearby homes. It really felt like a cozy backyard. We were the only people around.
Hubs got us situated where the bright sun was blocked, yet a pleasant breeze kept us plenty cool. We rolled down the windows, and opened up Jax's window to his tank in the back. Everyone was comfy. Hubs began searching the load boards to help find something faster.
As he busied himself with that, Jax and I got out to do a little exploring. He ran aways ahead of me while I lingered over the flowers. Of course, I began taking pics.

Psst.....save the bees! π

I sent all the photos to our granddaughter, Ellie, and told her I'd dry some of the flowers on the way home for us to make sun catchers with. They would make a nice addition to the nature collection I'd started back in Idaho in the spring.
After awhile it became apparent that we'd be staying the night. We hunkered down for snacks and R&R before supper.

Woo! Jax has a marketable brand in New England! Way to go, bud!! π Plus they were quite tasty with my homemade chicken salad sammy. π₯ͺ

This is what I'd call a Snickerdoodle Whoopie Pie. Absolute perfection!! π€€
We passed the time with favorite episodes until sleep was inevitable. π€
Fast forward to morning! ππ». Me with my first morning cuppa. βοΈ π

We had a delightful breakfast watching Jax run around in the lot. All in all, a beautiful, peaceful morning.
However.... you may could guess....

But, if you gotta wait, may as well wait in homey Maine, huh? Even the gas stations here serve lobster Everything! And with the greatest accents. Very charming. π₯°. Although, to be fair, they tell US we have the greater accents. lol
In conclusion, it may not be all glamorous on all days, yet there is always something to be so grateful for. We are together. We are healthy. We are safe. We are out here putting one mile behind us at a time. The good Lord provided an amazing little oasis that felt like home even far away from home. So, life is good. This is what I'm saying. π₯Ή.
Check back when we've perhaps gotten further down the road. Or maybe we'll just kick back and stay awhile. π
